Centennial Celebrations MESSAGE
FROM THE
RED DEER SACRED HEART
CENTENNIAL
CHAIRMAN – IAN MacQUARRIEOn behalf of the Centennial Committee and the Sacred Heart parishioners, I take this opportunity to welcome you to our website and to invite you to take part in the planned liturgical and social activities highlighting its 100 years of growth in Catholic Spiritually in Red Deer and surrounding area. The celebrations take place throughout the ensuing year, commencing with Benediction and the Litany of the Sacred Heart at 2:00 pm., Sunday, June 10, 2005 and conclude on the weekend of final celebration, Saturday, June 10, 2006 with a 4 pm Mass at the Sacred Heart church, celebrated by The Most Rev Thomas Collins, Archbishop of the Edmonton Diocese, A banquet, entertainment and socializing at the Capri Hotel will follow. The regular 9 and 11 am Masses on Sunday, June 11, 2006 will also be celebrated by Archbishop Collins. A tea and final centennial gathering will take place that afternoon in our Parish hall. A number of Priests and Sisters, who have served our Parish over the years, have also indicated their desire and intention to be in attendance at these final Centennial liturgical and social events. The Centennial
Committee and Parish wishes to extend a special invitation, to all former
parishioners, to join us for at least one of the planned activities in this
our Centennial Year. |
